A: Yes, the GLS has a course and a module database so that you can easily customize your curricula or courses to meet any learning and training needs. Different curricula can share a course or module, as well as its assessments and FAQs.
Q: Can I set up a group of learners and then assign the group to a particular curriculum?
A: Absolutely. You can set up a group, add learners to the group, and assign the entire group to a curriculum. In fact, you can assign that group to an unlimited number of curricula in any order you determine. Learners always must complete one curriculum before moving to the next. Q: Can I use different logo images for different courses?
A: Yes, you can use different logos to identify different courses, and a logo image will be displayed on top of every course. Also you can have a site logo to be displayed on the homepage.
Q: In a module, can I use Multimedia to assist learning?
A: Yes, you can upload an image file, a movie and audio file, a Word Processing file, a PowerPoint file, a PDF file, and other file formats into the GLS.

A: Yes, you can create a comprehensive online multiple-choice or true-false assessment for every learning module, and the system will automatically assess the answers and calculate grades. You decide the passing score and the number of times a learner can re-take the quiz and how many questions would be displayed on every page as well as the percentage of correct answers for passing the assessment. You can also create a short-essay quiz, but then of course you will need human graders.

A: Yes, learners can take notes, and view, edit, and archive notes in a section called “My Notebook.”

A: Yes, learners get instant feedback on multiple-choice and true-false assessment. They can click “My Progress” at any time to see what work they have completed, their grades for every quiz and how much remains for them to do.

A: The GLS has an area called “My Mail” in the “My Messenger” section for learner-coach interaction. A learner can initiate messages to the assigned coach and read replies from the coach. A learner can only view and respond to massages addressed to him or her from the coach. In addition, a coach can deliver a note to a particular learner or a group of learners and display it at the bottom of the news window on every login.

A: The GLS has an area called “Learning Community” in the “My Messenger” section for learner-learner interaction and one-to-many communication. It is a public bulletin board for learners to exchange information. Learners can post messages, view peers’ postings, and respond to postings. This function maximizes the sharing of knowledge and ideas, facilitates group discussions and fosters a collaborative learning environment.

A: No. You don’t need to activate all of the features. You can use only those you want for any particular curriculum.

A: In the back end, the administrator can view a report that summarizes information on when, what, and how many messages a coach has communicated with how many learners. You can also go to “My Mail” and “Learning Community” and view the message content.

A: Yes, once you set up a coach profile in the back end, just click “List Coach,” and assign a learner or multiple learners to a coach. You also have the option to assign more than one coach to a learner.
